Career Tarotscopes

Rebecca Szymczak, aka Cardsy B, author of The Saturn Diaries and tarot reader to the stars, consulted her tarot deck and has tips for which signs should utilize February’s Aquarian innovation to pitch new initiatives and which signs should work with the mid-month Mars/Pluto conjunction to make moves. She also has some insight into partnerships — this year, Valentine’s Day isn’t just for romantic connections — but is advantageous for business relationships as well.

February begins with Imbolc, the Pagan celebration of the peek into spring, which reminds us we’re beginning to emerge from the slower winter period to bring new ideas to life. We then move into the new moon in Aquarius on February 9, waking up our drive to innovate, especially in humanitarian efforts and social strategies. This is a good time for all signs to plan team brainstorming sessions and look at departmental structures. Right before Valentine’s Day on February 13, Mars will conjunct Pluto in Aquarius, making it an increased time of ambition, but also a time to be mindful of your approach regarding power plays. We have the full moon in Virgo at the end of the month, bringing some much-needed grounding after a big month of shake-ups and transformation.

Whatever your sign, change and expansion around partnerships is on the way this month. Aquarius season is the innovator and changemaker — so read on to see what the cards have in store.

You probably already mastered a challenging balancing act, so delegating and sharing responsibilities that you were used to juggling may initially feel strange. Be kind to yourself in the transition, and know the changes will serve you in the long run.

Aries/Aries Rising (March 21 to April 19)

Card: 6 of Cups

Aries are natural-born leaders always ready to take charge, leading you to feel the momentum of the new moon in Aquarius more than most signs. Doors are opening this month, but make sure to work together with teammates and collaborators for maximum impact.

Highlight: If You Want to Go Fast Go Alone. If You Want To Go Far, Go Together

The unifying nature of the Aquarius season highlights camaraderie around you, whether with vendors, partners, or colleagues. Make sure to be willing to receive and utilize this support.

Heads Up:  You Don’t Always Need to Be First

Though the self-efficient competitor in you can thrive on being first, this month, try to wait for others to offer their insight and join in before sprinting ahead. Not doing so can cause friction with higher-ups mid-month.

Mantra:  We’re on Each Other’s Team

Lorde

Taurus/Taurus Rising (April 20 to May 20)

Card: 4 of Cups

You have some significant opportunities arriving by mid-month, Taurus, but some may not be the best for your long-term happiness. Weigh your options, knowing that many more doors will open this year.

Highlight: That Which is for You Cannot Go by You

You may be tempted to jump at an offer or take on a client that initially doesn’t appear to be a fairly calibrated exchange. If it’s meant to be, it can be negotiated.

Heads Up: Don’t Let Your Ego in the Driver’s Seat

Watch out for the Mars/Pluto conjunction on February 13, which may trigger extreme reactions. Take a breath and wait a day or two before responding to proposals and offers that come up at that time.

Mantra:  No Excuses

Meghan Trainor

Gemini/Gemini Rising (May 21 to June 20)

Card: Queen of Swords

Gemini’s Mercury ruling makes you a powerful communicator. The new moon on February 9 provides an important opportunity to advocate for yourself and/or your team.

Highlight: The Floor is Yours

You’ll have an ideal opportunity (that you’ve been manifesting for some time now) to share your ideas with a captive audience mid-month.

Heads Up: Less is More

Yes, Geminis love to share verbally — but remember, sometimes less is more. Choose your words wisely and narrow them down to the most impactful points.

Mantra:  You Asked For This

Halsey

Cancer/Cancer Rising (June 21 to July 22)

Card: 3 of Cups

Cancers are nurturing leaders, but when it comes to their own duties, they tend to pull up their crab shell armor and go it solo. This month, changes in your team serve you by bringing a new structure that offers more balance.

Highlight: Beneficial New Dynamic

Though change can be unnerving, especially after an intense 2023, this month’s shakeup brings new allies and much-needed additional support.

Heads Up: Allow Yourself Some Wiggle Room

Mantra:  Everything’s Gonna Be Quite Alright

Alanis Morissette

Leo/Leo Rising (July 23 to August 22)

Card: Queen of Wands

The Queen of Wands represents the creative use of fire. As a fixed fire sign, you work best when excited and energized by new ideas and at the beginning stages of projects. Get ready because February has a lot of fuel for you.

Highlight: Fired Up and Ready to Go

If January started a little slow, February feels like the energetic double espresso you’ve been craving. Many inspiring conversations and exciting new projects will be headed your way by mid-month.

Heads Up: Trust the Process

Leos are go-getters and aren’t always known for their patience. The Chiron/North Node in Aries conjunction on February 19 may trigger insecurities. Don’t read too much into delays in communication around pending projects at this time. Queen of Wands reminds you this is a month of progress and creation.

Mantra:  This Girl is on Fire

Alicia Keys

Virgo/Virgo Rising (August 23 to September 22)

Card: 8 of Pentacles

The 8 of Pentacles indicates a new source of abundance flowing in this month.
This is likely the result of meetings and conversations that occur in the first half of February. Aquarius season reminds you to be open to new niches and industries that may have not been on your radar before.

Highlight: Preparation Pays Off

Though these opportunities appear in February, you prepared for these pursuits in many ways last year. Those efforts may have seemed futile, but you’ll reap the rewards in February.

Heads Up: Delegate and Celebrate

Virgos are hard workers and often detail-oriented. As many doors seem to open at once this month, ensure you don’t take on every little task yourself. Delegate where possible and celebrate the expansion.

Mantra:  Let it Flow

Toni Braxton

Libra/Libra Rising (September 23 to October 22)

Card: Justice

The Justice card is ruled by Libra and is often associated with your archetype of the scales of balance and boundaries. To activate this balance at work this month, you’ll also need to stand up for what you know is right.

Highlight: Stand Your Ground

The Mars/Pluto conjunction on February 13 will give you the extra boost to speak up for what you know is in the best interest of your department or business.

Heads Up: It’s Okay to Make Some Waves

Libras are great mediators but don’t always like to disrupt the peace. You may need to make some waves this month to make the progress that you know is necessary.

Mantra:  Get Up, Stand Up

Bob Marley

Scorpio/Scorpio Rising (October 23 to November 21)

Card: 3 of Wands

The change you’ve both been longing for but also a little nervous about is arriving by the full moon on February 24.

Highlight: Doors Opening

3 of Wands is the card of new journeys and being able to see your ship finally coming in. This arrives closer to the end of the month when the sun is in Pisces, a fellow water sign, indicating to choose with both your head as well as your heart.

Heads Up: Big Decisions to Make

This month brings a major decision with important pros and cons to consider regarding timing. It’s okay to ask for a few additional days to decide. Choosing from a place of what feels good long-term versus making a quick decision out of scarcity is essential.

Mantra:  Dare You to Move

Switchfoot

Sagittarius/Sagittarius Rising (November 22 to December 23)

Card: Page of Pentacles

Don’t call it a comeback, Sagittarius. February puts you back in the flow of your optimistic, abundant nature with the Page of Pentacles due to connections you made at the end of 2023 through January of 2024.

Highlight: Big Money Moves

It may have required some patience through setbacks of Mercury’s retrograde and shadow period in January. Still, the payouts are arriving in real-time after the new moon in Aquarius on February 9.

Heads Up: Confidence is Key

You’ve already been shown the open doorway but may have had difficulty trusting until you see the contracts in your inbox or the money hit your account. Keep looking forward, don’t feed into old stories of scarcity, and you will receive.

Mantra:  A Matter of Trust

– Billy Joel

Capricorn/Capricorn Rising (December 22 to January 19)

Card: 9 of Wands

Hold strong, Capricorns. An opportunity that may have seemed a sure thing may be taking longer than usual.

Highlight: The Thrill of the Chase

9 of Wands is the card of perseverance, and Capricorns are never ones to give up too early. Despite delays, a bit of a chase to this project or client fuels your competitive nature, giving you just the right inspiration to secure the deal.

Heads Up: Watch Your Self-Talk

Though it may seem you’re battling red tape, your biggest adversary is your inner critic. You can be extremely hard on yourself — observe when you’re beating yourself up and redirect the narrative.

Mantra:  I’m a Survivor

Destiny’s Child

Aquarius/Aquarius Rising (January 20 to February 18)

Card: The Moon

Happy Birthday, dear Aquarius! Even if the past year wasn’t your favorite, you can’t deny it made you stronger than ever.

Highlight: Clarity and Illumination

The risks you were willing to take over the past few months are paying off, but the Moon card suggests they may also be shining light on additional areas that need your attention regarding work/life balance and boundaries.

Heads Up: Intuition Over Fear

You have many powerful cosmic portals this month, starting with February 9 when the sun and moon are in your sign. Your intuition will feel clearer than ever, but your anxiety may be triggered more by the middle of the month as well. Listen to your intuition over the voice of your past self’s fears.

Mantra:  It’s Always The Darkest Before The Dawn

Florence and the Machine

Pisces/Pisces Rising (February 19 to March 20)

Card: Page of Wands

It seems that some workplace drama may have been weighing on you last month, causing you to feel emotionally and energetically drained. Page of Wands indicates a reinvigorating change of pace this month.

Highlight: Enjoy the Rise

The new projects or clients you’re working with this month are a gateway to more significant opportunities. Dive in and enjoy the momentum.

Heads Up: Don’t Look Down

Pisces are one of the most empathic signs of the zodiac, making them emotionally adept leaders, but this also means they can easily get weighed down by the energy of others. Remain focused on the new opportunities this month and cut distractions as much as possible.

Mantra:  Come Alive
